Summer Library Hours & Book Club – see link at the bottom of Post for the registration form – Due by Friday, May 22nd.
The Mount Vernon Middle School Library will be offering open library hours for incoming 5th – outgoing 8th graders to continue checking out books to read over the summer. We are also offering a free summer book club for students to participate in. ALL students are welcome to check out materials from the library even if they don’t participate in book club. Summer Book Club Schedule
In the MV Middle School Library, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm during the following sessions:
Club 1 Tuesdays: June 9, 16, 23, 30 – The Trouble With Heroes
Club 2 Thursdays: June 11, 18, 25, July 2 – The Sherlock Society
Club 3 Tuesdays: July 7, 14, 21, 28 – The Sherlock Society
Club 4 Thursdays: July 9, 16, 23, 30 – The Trouble With Heroes
The Book Club is free to students entering 5th – current 8th grade students. The only commitment needed by students is to join one of the book club groups and read the book. We also suggest that the student be present for at least 3 out of the 4 meetings.
Please fill out the form on the backside of this handout and return it to your 4th grade classroom teacher or to the Middle School Library by Friday, May 22. We will email you a confirmation of the book club group(s) that your child is registered for this summer by Wednesday, May 27.
A book will be provided for each child that returns the registration slip; you do not need to purchase a book for your child. Please return the slip on time so that we are able to plan our purchases accordingly. We will cap each group at approximately 20 students.
