One of the most important things your child can do to reach the goal of
success is also one of the most basic: attend school every day on time!
By attending class regularly, your child is more likely to keep up with daily
lessons and assignments and take quizzes and tests on time. Research has
shown that your child’s regular attendance may be the greatest factor
influencing his/her academic success.

However, we do know that sometimes it just can’t be helped. There are illnesses, doctor appointments, dental appointments, reasons to be out of town.

If your child will be absent from school, we ask that you please contact the school by 8:30 in the morning to inform us of the absence. We cannot emphasize enough how important it is that you contact us early in the event of an absences. If we don’t hear from you and your child is marked absent, we spend quite a bit of time making sure they aren’t somewhere in the building and quite a bit of time trying to contact a parent. If your child needs to leave early for an appointment, please call the school as soon as you know (before your child’s lunch is best) so we can get them a pass to leave class. You can send a note with your child, email the office (pmote@mvcsd.org) or call us. Voicemail is available before and after the school day.

In the event of an absence, please have your child reach out to their teachers via email, check google classroom and/or the grade level websites. The teachers have told students where they can look for assignments.
